With these apps and the expanded capacities, people are beginning to use the iPad in creative ways for their home security.  Some are now using the iPad to work with the main controller of their home security system.  They can be used to control weather related security, temperature control, security cameras, lighting and other security devises such as windows and doors. 

With a claimed battery life of 10 hours active use the iPad could sit on a coffee table and act as the central controller interface, webcam/security camera display and have enough resolution to support instant display of the entire house’s status at a glance.

Technology is all around us. We use it every day for everything, from staying in touch to entertainment to earning a living. It makes sense that people are using their iPhones and iPads to better their home security. We’ve gotten to a point where it’s out of the ordinary to not have our phones with us, so we might as well start using them to protect our homes while we’re away.
